Research interests/biography

Chris is a professor of geoscience at the ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ and director of the Arctic Coastal Geoscience Lab and ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ Coastal Cooperative. He leads interdisciplinary research on coastal processes, hazards and environmental change across ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ using field research, environmental observing, geospatial analysis and long-term monitoring. His work is grounded in sustained partnerships with rural coastal communities and emphasizes co-produced, actionable science that addresses local priorities while advancing understanding of rapidly changing Arctic and sub-Arctic coastal systems.
