URSA accepting applications for fall mentor awards and student project awards

The office of Undergraduate Research and Scholarly Activity is accepting applications from undergraduate students for the Student Project Award, and from faculty, research professionals, post-doctoral researchers, and graduate students for the Mentor Award. Applications for both programs are due by June 7.
Undergraduate students planning to pursue creative projects or conduct research during the fall 2026 semester are invited to apply for an URSA Student Project Award.
- The limit for requests is $3,000 for individuals and $6,000 for groups of two or more students.
- Eligible expenses: undergraduate fellowship, tuition (up to 4 credits for a course related to your project), consumable supplies and contractual services.
- Proposed project work must take place between Aug. 24-Dec. 5, 2026.
- Students from all disciplines are invited to apply!
- Application deadline is June 7, 2026.
The URSA Mentor Award is an opportunity for mentors to receive funding to engage undergraduate students on their current research and creative projects. Faculty, research professionals, post-doctoral researchers, and graduate students may apply and serve as URSA mentors.
- The funding limit for this RFP is $6,000.
- Applicants are required to identify at least one eligible undergraduate student upon the application deadline.
- Eligible expenses: undergraduate student fellowship, undergraduate student tuition (up to 4 credits for a course related to the project), registration costs for professional development opportunities, consumable supplies or contractual services.
- All project work must take place from Aug. 24, 2026 - April 26, 2027 (the combined fall 2026/spring 2027 semesters).
- Application deadline is June 7, 2026.
