New Mars gravity analysis improves understanding of possible ancient ocean

The first use of a novel method of analyzing Mars’ gravitational force supports the idea that the planet once had an extensive northern ocean. In doing so, the method defines the scope of what scientists refer to as the northern Martian paleo-ocean in more detail.

Black receives 2023 Bullock Prize for service to the UA system

Drone completes first flight from Nenana to Fairbanks airport

ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥'s leading public uncrewed aircraft program made another significant advance Friday when a drone flew from the Nenana airport and landed at Fairbanks International Airport. The flight, conducted by a ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ research center, was the first in ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ of a drone departing one airport and arriving at a controlled airport.

Students at ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ institutions of higher education, doing a classroom practicum, pursuing a B.S. in elementary or secondary education, or graduate students pursuing an M.Ed. or M.A.T. are invited to apply.

ACEP and partners receive $6 million to help secure electric grids
September 12, 2023
Communities hit hard by climate change in ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ and elsewhere in the U.S. could benefit from a new research project aimed at improving their electric grids. The ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ ÀÖ»¢Ö±²¥ Center for Energy and Power and partners have received $6 million from the National Science Foundation to conduct the study.
